The EMC Institute of Oncology has created a unique complex combining PET / CT diagnostics, radiation therapy, radiosurgery and its own laboratory for the production of radiopharmaceuticals. The department of radionuclide diagnostics is equipped with the latest generation equipment for carrying out the whole range of investigations in oncological disease.
The department of radiation therapy has linear accelerators TrueBeam and Trilogy manufactured by Varian, USA, which allow to conduct the most modern methods of radiation treatment, including stereotactic radiosurgery. The department provides emergency radiation therapy, which is performed round-the-clock for emergency conditions in oncology. The department also proposes X-ray intraoperative radiotherapy, where it was for the first time in Russia introduced as treatment for breast cancer.
Specialists of the Neurology and Neurosurgery Clinic provide assistance to patients with various diseases of the brain and spinal cord, including tumors, vascular malformations, degenerative diseases and spinal trauma.
At the beginning of 2016 EMC opened an X-ray room equipped with the latest generation of angiography system to carry out the entire range of intravascular interventions, including urgent interventions for acute myocardial infarction and acute strokes.

Robot-assisted surgery (Da Vinci Si HD of the latest generation)
EMC is the first private clinic in Russia, where doctors operate on the Da Vinci Si HD robotic system of the latest generation.
The use of the Da Vinci system is a breakthrough in surgical treatment, especially for oncological diseases. This technology of minimally invasive interventions is by far the most advanced in the field of endoscopic surgery. Due to the micro-tools that replace the hands of the surgeon, radical removal of the tumor through small punctures is possible within one to two hours. Using the Da Vinci robot, surgical intervention is performed with minimal blood loss and tissue traumatism, which reduces the postoperative and recovery periods several-fold.
During the operation, the doctor receives a 3D image of the operating field with a 10-fold zoom. The surgeon controls the robot Da Vinci with the help of special manipulators, which transfer the slightest movements of his fingers. Since the robot has three hands, and all of them have mobility of 360 degrees, with the help of the Da Vinci system it is possible to carry out complex operations in areas where a surgeon could ever reach, and this all is performed through punctures on the skin. Previously, such interventions mostly referred to open surgery.
Seven degrees of freedom of movement of the surgical instrument allow the most accurate manipulation without damaging nervous branches and vessels.
The use of robotic technology allows the most complex surgical interventions:
on the thyroid gland (treatment of tumors and nodular thyroid formations: thyroidectomy - removal of the thyroid gland, hemithyroidectomy - removal of one lobe of the thyroid gland). Advantages of robotic thyroid surgery: operations are performed through axillary access, with minimal side effects and pain syndrome, without scars on the neck and with preservation of the vocal nerves;
on the organs of the head and neck (removal of benign and malignant tumors of the oral cavity, nasopharynx, oropharynx, larynx, vocal cords, trachea, salivary glands, lymphadenectomy of the neck); ENT surgeons of EMC are the first in Russia to manage with the technology of transoral surgery (TORS) using the Da Vinci robotic unit for operations in the oropharynx and laryngopharynx;
in urology for treatment of adenoma and prostate cancer, as well as for correction of urinary incontinence. Types of operations: prostatectomy, nephrectomy, kidney resection, cystectomy, pyeloplasty; carrying out of a robotic prostatectomy allows to perform removal of a prostate with preservation of the erectile function. Advantages of complete or partial nephrectomy with the da Vinci robot: precise removal of the tumor, low level of operative complications, short thermal ischemia time (the shorter it lasts, the better it is for kidney function), less blood loss;

A number of robot-assisted operations were performed in EMC for the first time in Russia:
2012 - the first in Russia's private practice of gynecological and oncogynecological operations on the latest Da Vinci Si HD robot.
2013 - the first robotic-assisted cystoprostatectomy in Russia with lymphodissection (removal of the bladder and prostate using the Da Vinci Si HD robotic surgical system and removal of the chain of lymph nodes) in a patient with a diagnosed bladder tumor.
2014 - total thyroidectomy with the help of Da Vinci robot was first performed in Russia.
2014 - robotic hemithyroidectomy (removal of the nodular formation of the right lobe of the thyroid gland with the help of the Da Vinci system) was first performed in Russia.
2015 - unique one-stage radical robotic prostatectomy and falloprosthesis.
2017 - the first in Russia robotic assisted surgery for ureteral plasty for a two-year-old child. In 2018, a similar operation was performed for another patient under the age of 2 years.
