In 1994, he has graduated from the Russian State Medical University n. a. N.I. Pirogov.

In 1998-2000 he was trained in a clinical residency at the department of neurosurgery of the Russian Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education, in 2000-2003 he did his postgraduate study at the Department of Neurosurgery of the Russian Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education.

Dr. Levchenko was awarded a grant of the European Association of Neurosurgeons, from “Synthesis” company, Switzerland, and passed an internship at the University Clinic in Leeds, UK (August-October 2011). In 2002 he won the silver medal of the young scientist competition at the 4th Congress of Neurosurgeons of Russia for the scientific work of "Experimental verification of dynamic transpedicular stabilization of the spine". In 2004 he defended his thesis on the topic of "Experimental and clinical research of functional transpedicular stabilization of the spine".

Experience

Dr. Levchenko worked as a head of the department of neurosurgery in the City Clinical Hospital №61 and in the neurosurgical department of the Central Clinical Hospital of the Civil Aviation as a neurosurgeon. From 2004 to the present time he holds the position of an associate professor at the department of neurosurgery of the Russian State Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education.

Scientific works

There are 12 printed works, including 4 original articles in the journal “Questions of Neurosurgery”; a patent for a device for dynamic stabilization of the spine. A device for dynamic transpedicular stabilization of the spine developed by Dr. Levchenko in co-authorship with Engineering Medical Center of Moscow Aviation Technological Institute - Medtech is used to treat patients with spinal diseases in Russia, the United Kingdom and the European Union countries.

Surgical treatment of spine diseases: stenosis of the spinal channel, spondylolisthesis, vertebral fractures, vertebral fractures in combination with osteoporosis, oncological diseases of the spine. Decompression-stabilizing and stabilizing surgeries.

Herniated disc at the lumbar and cervical levels: microdiscectomy, microdiscectomy with implant placement.

Minimally invasive surgeries on the spine with disc protrusions and spondyloarthrosis: microdiscectomy, cold-plasma nucleoplasty, radiofrequency destruction of facet joints.

Conservative treatment of strong muscle-tonic (myofascial) pain syndromes.
