In 1972 graduated from the Yerevan Medical Institute. In 1973 underwent residency in the specialty Neuroradiology. In 1980 completed residency at the Department of Neurosurgery. In 1986 defended a thesis. In 1991 defended a doctoral thesis on the topic: "Comprehensive treatment of progressive forms of epilepsy". In 1996 the doctor was awarded the degree of professor.

Had internships in the clinics of the USA, Poland, Germany and South Africa.

William is a neurosurgeon of the higher category, professor, member of the Russian Academy of Medical and Technical Sciences. In 2014 by the decree of the President of the Russian Federation was awarded the honorary title "Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation".

Experience

From 1973 to 1975 worked as a senior doctor in a military unit;

From 1981 to 1988 was a chief researcher of the Pediatric Neurosurgical Department at the Research Institute named after Polenov;

Since 1988 is a supervisor of the neurosurgical service of the Russian Far East;

From 1990 to 2000 worked as a teacher at the medical institute;

Since 2000 - chief editor of the journal "Neurosurgery and Neurology of Children’s age";

Since 2002 is Head of the Department of Neurosurgery of Children's Age in the Russian Neurosurgical Institute named after Prof. A.L. Polenov, branch of the National Medical Research Center named after V.A. Almazov.

Scientific works

The doctor has more than 350 publications and is a co-author of 13 patents and inventions. Subjects of most publications are the following: "Recommendations for the treatment of children with traumatic brain injury", "Cerebrovascular pathology in children", "Complications of cerebrospinal fluid-shunting operations", "Spinal dysraphism, neurosurgical and neurological complications."

2007 - Member of the Academy of Medical and Technical Sciences.
