New specialists at the EMC Psychotherapy Clinic
New doctors have joined the EMC Psychotherapy Clinic: the medical psychologists Narmina BORISOVA and Mikhail KLYUCHNIKOV and also the psychiatrist Olga KARPENKO. The new EMC specialists have extensive practical experience in psychotherapy, psychology, psychiatry, neuropsychology and also complementary medicine. They specialise in the treatment of trauma and the effects of stress situations, support for patients with severe medical conditions and the treatment of depression, anxiety disorders, neurotic conditions and also family therapy. Doctor Borisova is certified under the international programmes Diagnosis and Treatment of the Effects of Mental Trauma at the Trauma Studies Centre of the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy, New York and Brain Gym. She is also experienced in Dance-Movement Therapy and Gestalt Therapy*. Olga Karpenko is a member of the World Psychiatric Association (WPA), research secretary of the Preventive Psychiatry section of WPA, member of the Russian Society of Psychiatrists, and head of the section on the organization of scientific and practical activities of the Russian Society of Young Psychiatrists of the Russian Society of Psychiatrists. Doctor Klyuchnikov trained in existential psychotherapy under a programme of The Pacific Institute (San-Francisco, USA). He is currently a member of the Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Therapies (ABCT) and deputy head of the project Authors’ Lectures in Paediatrics. Doctors of the Clinic have experience working with patients with psychosomatic illnesses - a field of psychiatry that is virtually non-existent in Russia; in their work they use only effective methods and techniques that meet modern standards of evidence-based medicine, which helps to restore psycho-emotional balance and minimise the risk of side effects. The psychotherapists work with Russian or English-speaking patients of any age. *Gestalt Therapy - one of the three areas of existential therapy based on the ability of the psyche to regulate itself, on the creative adaptation of the body to its environment and on the principle of a person’s responsibility for their actions, intentions and expectations; it is designed to develop awareness and responsibility and it restores the ability to experience your own real emotions and feelings. |
