Doctors Orthopedists-traumatologists operating in our clinic are experts with long-term work experience in Europe who regularly undergo training at the renowned clinics of Europe and the USA and take part in the work of international congresses.
Arthroscopic surgery This is a minimally invasive method of surgical intervention which permits carrying out operations on injuries or pathological changes without opening joints, which provides minimum damage of surrounding tissues and therefore permits keeping healthy parts of the joint. Operations on meniscuses, ligaments and cartilages are performed with the method of arthroscopic surgery. The operation is supervised by the surgeon via a monitor on which the image of all the intra-articular structures is increased by 30-50 times in comparison with actual size which provides the highest precision and accuracy of manipulations in the joint, and also has basic significance for the accelerated restoration of patients after the operation.
Osteosynthesis A modern technique of treating difficult fractures in our department isthe method of stable osteosynthesis: connection of fragments of bones for the purpose of restorating bone integrity. Minimum influence on soft tissues promotes fracture consolidation and also permits receiving excellent cosmetic results. Stable osteosynthesis does not require additional bone fixing and enables retaining the function of joints. Two kinds of osteosynthesis are applied: internal and external.
Indications for osteosynthesis Absolute and relative indications for osteosynthesis surgery are differentiated. Among absolute indications are fractures where knitting without operative intervention is not obviously possible. These are fractures in the area of multipurpose joints, such as the femur , patella, olecranon, open fractures, fractures with damage to large vessels and nervous tissues. Relative indications are: secondary displacement of bone fragments, unfused fractures and formation of false joints.
Joint replacement surgery Endoprosthesis is the most effective and often a unique way of restoring the lost function of limbs in arthrosis. This is extremely high technical surgical intervention during which destroyed parts of the joint are replaced with artificial multicomponent limbs. In our department, doctors use only advanced endoprosthesis, well proved in international practice. The result of the operation is pain elimination in the joint and also mobility improvement in the joint. |
